Frankincense is a well-known aromatic substance obtained by cutting the trunks of trees of the genus Boswellia Serrata and subsequent collecting the resin flowing from the trees. One of these evergreen tropical trees has a name - Bible frankincense tree.

During the divine service, frankincense slowly steams on the burning coals of the incense burner, and when burned, it creates the well-known fragrant smoke (incense). The frankincense smoke invariably aiming upwards symbolizes the prayers of the believers, the parishioners of the Church, directed to Heaven.
